For listening, review the listening skills, listen and get the right answers;

For reading, learn to analyze and understand the material in aspects of main ideas, topic sentences, supporting sentences;

For speaking, try to retell, and introduce another kind of plants based on what you have learnt.

二、教学重难点

教学重点：培养和落实学生的听力技巧。

教学难点：听后对文本的处理、理解和拓展运用。

三、教学过程

I. Warming up

1. Look at some photos of some trees, think about the following questions:

What tree is it? Where can you find it?

Why do people grow it? What can we use it to do?

2. Look at the pictures and guess what tree it is.

II. Pre-listening

Listening skills:

1) Before listening: Read and predict

2) While listening: Take notes

III. While-listening

1. Listen to the material and choose the right answer.

2. Listen to a radio program about pine trees and complete the notes below. Write one word or figure(数字) in each blank. (Tip: Predict预测.)

V. Speaking

1. Oral practice 1: Work in pairs, try to retell paragraph 2 and paragraph 3, S1 choose one paragraph to retell and S2 retell the other paragraph.

2. Oral practice 2: Work in groups of four, introduce bamboos in aspects of 4. Each student introduces one aspect only.
